A WORK BASED DAY RELEASE PROGRAMME IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT

WHO THE COURSE IS AIMED AT
Supervisors and junior management particularly "The Duty Manager" who have no formal training in the industry and cannot attend a training course full time owing to work commitments. They are self motivated and have the desire to progress in their career.

BENEFIT
By attending the programme it will provide the candidate with skills, knowledge and a better understanding of their job. It enables them to develop and contribute on a more productive level at work.


HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS

  • The employer either selects current staff or school leavers who show potential for development
    An appointment is set up between the Academy, the Employer and the Candidate to introduce the course concept and to assess the Candidates aptitude to join the programme

  • The Academy provides the Candidate with a workbook covering all the modules that make up the qualification. The workbook contains the practical skills and knowledge requirements of the programme.

  • An in house facilitator is nominated to support and guide the Candidate in conjunction with the Academy. The facilitator will verify the Candidates skills that are practiced in the workplace.

  • The programme consists of 25 lectures presented at the Academy. Lectures commence in February each year and all lectures must be attended and completed in order to write the final City and Guilds examination. The examinations and held in November each year.

WHERE AND WHEN
The programme is presented at The HTA School of Culinary Arts, a City and Guilds approved training centre situated at 128 Bram Fischer Drive, Ferndale, Randburg. 
Lectures take place on Mondays commencing Feb 2009
